STREETWEAR GUIDE TO LA

Context

This project focused on creating a brochure centered around Los Angeles streetwear culture. My goal was to authentically reflect the aesthetics and values of the streetwear scene while experimenting with a new design format. To complement the brochure, I also designed an app wireframe that encouraged user engagement and interaction.

Challenges

One of the main challenges was balancing the raw, distressed aesthetic of streetwear with a clean and cohesive layout. Initially, I experimented with cut-out designs to add dimension, but after testing, I realized they distracted from readability and function. This required me to refine my concept and rethink how to create visual interest without sacrificing clarity.

Process

I began with research on streetwear trends and branding to guide the visual direction, using Futura type for its ties to iconic streetwear logos. I curated imagery, applied consistent Photoshop treatments, and added grunge-inspired paint splatters and drips to create “organized chaos.” Multiple revisions helped refine the balance of white space, hierarchy, and functionality, while the app design introduced interactive features such as user “Fit Pics,” customer reviews, and store timelines to extend the project beyond print.
